This is a patch of rubber used to cover everything but the infected tooth. This is to prevent bacteria from finding their way to your tooth just after the dentist has cleaned it.<\/li>\n<li>Then the dentist gently drills an opening in your tooth. This creates access to the root canal. The dentist removes the contents of the root canal with a rotary file. This also immediately widens the canal a little.<\/li>\n<li>Next, the root canal is rinsed with a disinfectant rinse.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, the dentist fills the root canal with filling material. After-pain usually disappears a few days later, after a week at the latest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does swelling occur? Then hold a cold pack or some ice against your cheek for 15 to 20 minutes.
